Padres claim Mark Hamburger off waivers

The Padres have claimed pitcher Mark Hamburger off of waivers from the Rangers and optioned him to Triple-A. Jeremy Hermida was transferred to the 60-day DL in a corresponding move. 

I hope he will relish his time with the Padres.. Catch my drift (sorry steve)

Hamburger was designated for assignment last week to clear a spot on the roster for Roy Oswalt. He has spent the bulk of this season in Triple-A, posting a 6.55 ERA in 45 1/3 innings.
