According to several reports, the San Diego Padres have been getting many calls on third baseman Chase Headley. San Diego will listen to the offers but it will supposedly require "a lot" to part with him.Headley has hit .269 with 7 home runs this season. He is a switch hitter and he plays above average defense at third base. According to FanGraphs, he has a WAR (Wins above replacement) of 3.0.
Headley will earn $3.475 million this season and will be arbitration eligible for the second time in his career when the season is over.
