The Yankees have claimed right handed pitcher Chris Schwinden off of waivers from the Indians. In a corresponding move, the team designated pitcher Danny Farquhar for assignment.
Schwinden has had a busy month, bouncing around from team to team. He was claimed off of waivers by the Blue Jays from the Mets on June 2nd. The Indians claimed him off of waivers four days later after the Jays designated him for assignment. He then started three games for Cleveland's Triple-A affiliate before today's move.
Farquhar has also had a busy month. He appeared in 3 games for the Jays before the A's claimed him off of waivers on June 9th. The Yankees claimed him off of waivers earlier this week, but he did not get a chance to appear in a game for them.
