Angels interested in Mijares, Rzepczynski

Mijares has had a nice breakout season. 

The Angels have expressed interest in Jose Mijares of the Royals and Mark Rzepczynski of the Cardinals in search of a left handed reliever. The Angels have also shown some interest in Joe Thatcher of the Padres.

Mijares has had a very nice year, posting a 1.72 ERA in 36 2/3 innings pitched with Kansas City. He will be arbitration eligible after this season.

The Cardinals acquired Rzepczynski last year in the three-team deal centered around Edwin Jackson and Colby Rasmus. He has a 5.06 ERA in 32 innings pitched this year, and will also be arbitration eligible after this year.

The Angels currently have Scott Downs and Hisanori Takahashi as their left handed relievers in the bullpen, and they are supposedly willing to include center fielder Peter Bourjos in a deal.
