The Rangers have announced that Neftali Feliz will undergo Tommy John surgery within the next few days to repair a UCL tear in his elbow. He will be out for the remainder of this season and most of next season.
GM Jon Daniels has also announced that pitcher Roy Oswalt will be heading to the bullpen after some poor starts with Texas.
Feliz has started 7 games this year, posting a 3.16 ERA in 42.2 innings.

Analysis: I knew that Feliz going to the starting rotation was going to be a huge mistake. In all fairness, Joe Nathan has been excellent in the closer role, but Feliz should have stayed as the closer. You can just put someone in the rotation and hope they stay healthy. As for Oswalt, I knew this was a bad signing from the beginning. If you don't believe me, look at my previous posts about Oswalt. Anyway, the Rangers purposely didn't tell the media about Feliz's injury because they did not want to make it seem like they were desperate for pitching. If they told the media, Chicago would have probably asked for better prospects.
