Helton hits the 15 day DL

The Rockies have placed first baseman Todd Helton on the 15 day disabled list with right hip inflammation. The team activated catcher Ramon Hernandez from the disabled list in a corresponding move.

Helton hit .235 in 65 games this year, and his career batting average is .320. He has had lingering hip soreness lately and this is his first stint on the disabled list since 2010.
