Pirates designate Sutton for assignment

The Pirates announced that they have designated outfielder Drew Sutton for assignment. The move creates roster space for pitcher Daniel McCutchen.

Sutton hit .243 in 79 plate appearances with Pittsburgh, who claimed him from the Rays last month.
