Venters hits the 15 day DL

The Braves have placed pitcher Johnny Venters on the 15 day disabled list with a sore left elbow. The team recalled Luis Avilan from Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Venters has a 4.45 ERA in 40 games this year for Atlanta.

Avilan was 3-6 with a 3.23 ERA in 16 games for Triple-A this year.
