The Orioles have signed veteran pitcher Randy Wolf. The Brewers released Wolf last week.Wolf is in the final season of a three-year, $29.75 million deal he signed with Milwaukee a few years ago. He has posted a 5.69 ERA in 142 1/3 innings this year.
Analysis: Nice signing by the Orioles. I knew that Wolf was going to get picked up by someone, and the Orioles have really been looking for pitching depth all season long. They recently picked up Joe Saunders, now they have Wolf, and they could possibly look at signing Eric Bedard, and claiming Jason Vargas or Kevin Millwood off of waivers. Pitching depth is nice to have, but I kind of question how well Wolf will perform against American League hitters.
