The Rays have designated infielder Brooks Conrad for assignment to create roster space for third baseman Evan Longoria. Longoria injured his hamstring toward the end of April and has been on the disabled list ever since.The Rays claimed Conrad off of waivers from the Brewers at the end of June, and he has hit .133 in 105 total plate appearances this year. He has also had time at second and third base as well.
