The Rockies have designated pitcher Mike Ekstrom for assignment. The move creates space for veteran hurler Guillermo Moscoso.Ekstrom has allowed 11 runs in 15 2/3 relief innings for Colorado this season. He posted a 2.64 ERA in 47 2/3 Triple-A innings this year as well.
