Severino clears waivers, outrighted to Triple-A

The Nationals have announced that pitcher Atahualpa Severino has cleared waivers and will be outrighted to Triple-A. Severino was designated for assignment by Washington last week when the Nationals acquired Cesar Izturis and placed him on the roster. Severino has spent the entire 2012 season at Triple-A, where he has posted a 2.72 ERA in 40 relief appearances.
