The Giants have announced that pitcher Eric Hacker has cleared waivers and will be outrighted to Triple-A.San Francisco designated Hacker for assignment earlier in the week. He has spent most of the 2012 season in Triple-A, where he has posted a 4.01 ERA in 150 1/3 innings as a starter.
Analysis: Hacker is pretty much someone you would want to have on your team as pitching depth. He is 29 years old and will probably be a #5 starter at best in the future. This isn't a big surprise that he cleared waivers.
