The Rays have designated pitcher Albert Suarez for assignment. The move creates space for newly-acquired outfielder Ben Francisco.Suarez has spent the entire year in Single-A, where he has posted a 4.08 ERA in 25 starts.
Analysis: Suarez might clear waivers, but his age is definitely on his side. He is 22 years old, and has some upside I suppose. However, I expect that he'll clear waivers.
