Smith, Valaika outrighted to Triple-A

The Reds have announced that infielder Chris Valaika (pictured) and pitcher Jordan Smith have been outrighted to Triple-A.

Valaika hit .223 in 85 games in Triple-A this year, and Smith posted a 4.76 ERA in 51 Triple-A appearances in 2012.

Analysis: Both will probably clear waivers. Valaika isn't really anything special and Smith had one decent MLB season, and doesn't really strike out many batters (5.7 K/9.)
