Pena has spent the majority of the season in Triple-A, where he has hit .258 while playing second, third, and shortstop. He has a career .233 batting average in 338 career plate appearances.
Analysis: Pena was designated for assignment earlier in the season and he cleared waivers. I wouldn't be surprised if he clears waivers again. He is very versatile, but is a horrible hitter who plays slightly below average defense. Infield depth is always nice to have but I don't know if a team will waste a roster spot on Pena.
