Olmedo outrighted to Triple-A

The White Sox have announced that infielder Ray Olmedo has cleared waivers and will be outrighted to Triple-A.

Olmedo hit .273 in 2012 at Triple-A after signing a minor league deal with them last November. Chicago now has one spot open on their 40-man roster.

Analysis: Olmedo isn't really that great of an offensive player, and can really serve as infield depth only at this point of his career. It isn't surprising that he cleared waivers.
