Orr, Lerud outrighted off the roster

The Phillies have announced that infielder Pete Orr and catcher Steven Lerud have been outrighted off the 40 man roster.

Orr appeared in 35 games with Philadelphia in 2012, playing mostly second and third base while hitting .315 in 57 plate appearances. Lerud had a brief stint with the Phillies in 2012, but spent the majority of the year in Double-A, hitting .235 in 120 plate appearances.

Analysis: Orr is actually a bench player that I wouldn't mind having on my team. He is versatile, and is a decent hitter. Granted, I don't expect him to be career .315 hitter, but he does have some pop to his bat. Lerud really can't hit, and is pretty much a third or fourth string catcher at best.
