Rodney posted a 0.60 ERA with 48 saves in 2012, and will earn $2.5 million in 2013.
Scott hit .229 with 14 home runs in 2012, and will receive a $1 million buyout instead of the $6 million salary.
Analysis: Well we had to expect Tampa Bay to pick up Rodney's option, considering that the guy was one of the best pitchers in baseball last season. He also won AL Comeback Player on the Year. If he can repeat his performance in 2013, he'll be a steal for the Rays. I do believe that Rodney will be a flash in the pan here, and we'll have to wait and see if he can duplicate his performance. Scott has some pop to his bat, but is DEFINITELY not worth $6 million. He is a part time player at best- a designated hitter. He'll likely draw some interest as a DH.
