Braves sign Felix Pie

Free Agency Signing: The Atlanta Braves have signed outfielder Felix Pie. He has been assigned to their Triple-A affiliate. Pie, 27 was playing with the Camden River Sharks this spring and he had a lot of success. His stats were .360/.393/.620 with three home runs in 56 plate appearances. Pie played for the Baltimore Orioles last season and served as a backup outfielder and had moderate success.

How much playing time will Pie get in Atlanta?

Analysis: I like what Braves GM Frank Wren is thinking with the move. Adding Pie gives the Braves outfield depth and another bench weapon they could use late in the game. Pie also has good speed so could serve as the teams pinch runner often as well. However,  Pie probably won't get a starting gig in Atlanta. Prado is manning left, Bourn is in center and Heyward is playing left. Pie could possibly platoon with Prado in left field if he is performing exceptionally well. Even if he makes a minimal impact on the team, It won't really matter because the Braves signed him for practically nothing (in baseball terms.)
