Update: Berkman has a torn meniscus and will miss 6-8 weeks. There is no damage to the ACL.
Lance Berkman hurt his leg stretching for a routine throw from Rafael Furcal. He took an MRI and he has to wait for the results. He is very unsure about his future in baseball. Berkman claimed that if he re-torn his ACl, he wouldn't automatically call it a career. The veteran will earn $12 million this season and has only played in 13 games.

Analysis: Tough break for Berkman and we will have to see what the MRI says to determine the extent of the injury. If he has re-torn his ACL, he will probably be out for the season and will most likely have trouble finding a job for next season. If this a serious injury, it could be devastating for the Cardinals because their lineup is lacking power and the last thing they need is for Berkman to be out for a significant amount of time.
