Marlins send Sanchez to Triple-A

The Miami Marlins have sent struggling first baseman Gaby Sanchez to the minors, one year after he was on the N.L. All Star team. Sanchez is currently batting .197 with one home run and 11 RBI this season. The Marlins are clearly unhappy with his performance and hope that he will get his swing back in Triple-A.

Analysis: I didn't realize Sanchez was on a short leash, because now who is going to replace him and play first base? This is interesting because the Blue Jays placed first baseman Adam Lind on outright waivers yesterday. Could the Marlins be interested in acquiring Lind? Would they be willing to take on his contract? Sanchez is probably their long term first baseman so I doubt the Marlins would trade for some All Star and unload their farm system.
