Mets release D.J. Carrasco

Will any team be desperate for bullpen help and sign Carrasco?

The Mets have released relief pitcher D.J. Carrasco, according to Adam Rubin of ESPNNewYork.com. The team designated Carrasco nine days ago.

He appeared in four games with the Mets this year, allowing six hits in 3 2/3 innings of work. The Mets will have to pay him $1.2 million for the remainder of of the season. Carrasco can now sign a deal deal with  team for the league minimum ($480k).
