The Athletics have claimed pitcher Danny Farquhar off of waivers from the Blue Jays. He will be optioned to Triple-A and Andrew Carignan has been moved to the 60-day DL.Farquhar has been in the Athletics organization before. He joined the organization in 2010 as part of the Rajai Davis deal. He then got traded to Toronto in the David Purcey deal. Farquhar has a 2.97 ERA with 9.8 K/9 in 20 Double-A appearances this year.
