The Cardinals have claimed pitcher John Gaub off of waivers from the Rangers. Gaub was designated for assignment on Thursday.The 27 year old posted a 3.42 ERA with a 12.2 K/9 in 50 Triple-A appearances for the Cubs last season. Gaub played 16 games for the Rays Triple-A team this year and 5 games for the Triple-A team of the Cubs.
