The Oakland Athletics have designated pitcher Danny Farquhar for assignment. The team recalled A.J. Griffin from Triple-A in a corresponding move.Farquhar was claimed off of waivers by the A's on June 9th. He posted a 2.97 ERA in 20 Double-A appearances for the Blue Jays this season. He also pitched eight innings for the A's Triple-A team this year.
