The Rays have placed starting pitcher Jeremy Hellickson on the 15 day disabled list because of shoulder fatigue. The team has called up pitcher Chris Archer in a corresponding move, and he will make his major league debut tonight.Hellickson, the 2011 American League Rookie of the Year, claimed that he experienced no pain or discomfort, but just some weakness. The Rays expect him to only miss 2 or 3 starts.
Analysis: Hellickson has been a train wreck this season and has gotten rocked in his last few outings. Perhaps his struggles were from his arm fatigue so we'll have to see if he can get his groove back. The Rays rely on their pitching to keep them in games and they will need Hellickson for the long run. If you own him in fantasy, try to keep him if you can because he isn't expected to be out for an extended period of time.
