The Rockies have made it clear to other teams in the league that pitcher Jeremy Guthrie is available through a trade and the team is willing to part ways with him. Several reports are saying that the Blue Jays have contacted the Rockies to discuss a framework about a possible deal. The deal would reportedly involve Colorado sending Guthrie and his contract to Toronto in exchange for Double-A first baseman Mike McDade.Guthrie has struggled to stay healthy as a Rockie this year. Even when he is healthy, he is very ineffective and struggles on the mound. His value is low right now but the Rockies don't need him because they are clearly not in contention.
Analysis: I expect him to be traded within the week because some team will take a chance on him. Worst comes to worst he serves as a team's mop-up man and can certainly provide innings.
