Rockies to use 4 man rotation

Jim Tracy, the Manager of the Colorado Rockies, has announced that the team will use a 4 man Starting rotation. Jeremy Guthrie is going to be moved to the bullpen.

Tracy will keep his pitchers on a 75 pitch limit to compensate for one less day of rest. The rotation will consist of Juan Nicasio, Alex White, Christian Friedrich, and Josh Outman.

Analysis: This is a Joe Maddon-type move. This is definitely an unconventional move and I highly doubt it is going to work. The Rockies desperately need a new group of pitchers, and the fact that they play in Coors field doesn't really help either. Another thing I don't get is why is Drew Pomeranz not up with the big league team? Pomeranz, if you remember, came over to Colorado in last years Ubaldo Jimenez deal. He has an ERA of 3.06 in Triple-A and should be in the big league rotation.
