Angels sign Trevor Crowe, A's sign McSwain

• The Angels have signed former first round pick Trevor Crowe to a minor league contract. The Indians released Crowe two days ago, and has a .245 career batting average in parts of three big league seasons. 
• The Athletics have signed pitcher Matt McSwain to a minor league deal. McSwain, 26, spent the first part of the season in Pittsburgh's Double-A affiliate, where he posted a 4.88 ERA in 55 1/3 innings.
