The Blue Jays have designated pitcher David Pauley for assignment. The move allows the club to recall Drew Carpenter from Triple-A.Pauley was designated for assignment by the Angels a few times earlier this year. The Jays claimed him off of waivers on June 20. He appeared in four games with Toronto, allowing seven runs in 6 2/3 innings pitched.
