The Cardinals have signed pitcher Brian Fuentes to a minor league deal. Fuentes was released by the Athletics earlier this week, and St. Louis instantly showed interest in him.Fuentes had a 6.84 ERA in 25 innings for Oakland this year. He is the second year of a two year, $10.5 million contract he signed with Oakland prior to the 2010 season. If he gets called up to the Cardinals, St. Louis will only have to pay him the league minimum.
