The Indians have acquired utility player Brent Lillibridge from the Red Sox in exchange for right hander Jose De La Torre. Cleveland transferred Lonnie Chisenhall to the 60 day DL to make roster space for Lillibridge, who was recently designated for assignment by Boston.Boston acquired Lillibridge in the deal that sent Kevin Youkilis to Chicago in June. Lillibridge has hit .165 in 86 total appearances this year, but is really not known for his bat. He is appealing to teams because of his versatility on the field.
De La Torre posted a 2.91 ERA with 9.4 K/9 in 55 2/3 innings pitched this year for Cleveland's Double-A and Triple-A affiliates. He signed with the Indians as a free agent in January.
