Indians acquire Lars Anderson

The Indians have acquired first baseman/outfielder Lars Anderson from the Red Sox in exchange for minor league pitcher Steven Wright.

Anderson has had a few cups of coffee with Boston over the last three seasons, but has never collected more than 43 plate appearances in any season with the Red Sox. He has spent most of this season in Triple-A, where he has hit .259 with 9 homers in 401 plate appearances.

Wright is a 27 year old knuckle baller who has posted a 2.49 ERA in 115 2/3 innings at Double-A this year. He has started 20 games at the Double-A level this year.
