Left handed relief pitcher J.C. Romero has opted out of his deal with the Orioles and has elected free agency. The Orioles signed Romero a month ago and assigned him to Triple-A.Back in December, Romero signed with St. Louis on a one year deal worth $750k with incentives. The Cardinals released him six weeks into the season and he signed with the Orioles. He posted a 2.51 ERA in 14 1/3 innings pitched for the Orioles Triple-A affiliate.
