The Padres have placed pitcher Andrew Cashner on the 15 day DL with a right lat muscle strain. The team recalled Brad Brach from Triple-A in a corresponding move.Cashner, who hit 101 mph on the radar gun in his last start, was 3-3 with a 3.44 ERA and 45 strikeouts in 36 2/3 innings this year.
Brach was 2-1 with a 2.79 ERA in 10 Triple-A appearances this year.
