Rays acquire Ryan Roberts

As I expected, the Rays have acquired third baseman Ryan Roberts from Arizona in exchange for minor league second baseman Tyler Bortnick.


 Roberts has hit .250 in 280 plate appearances this season. He will earn $2.01 million this season and will remain under team control through 2015.


Bortnick has .253 in 404 Triple-A plate appearances this year, and is 25 years old.
