The Red Sox have acquired pitcher Craig Breslow from the Diamondbacks in exchange for pitcher Matt Albers and outfielder Scott Podsednik.The Red Sox have been seeking left handed relief help. The Angels have also been looking at Craig Breslow.
Breslow has a 2.70 ERA in 43 1/3 innings this year. He will earn $1.8 million this year and will go to arbitration for the final time after this season.
Analysis: Great deal for Boston here. Breslow is a great, under the radar relief pitcher and he should thrive in Boston. I don't understand what the Diamondbacks are doing here though. Albers is by no means a prospect and Podsednik is a 36 year old veteran outfielder.
