Yankees acquire Chad Qualls

The Yankees have acquired pitcher Chad Qualls from the Phillies for a player to be named later or cash considerations. The Phillies designated Qualls for assignment on Thursday. In a corresponding move, the team designated Matt Antonelli for assignment to create roster space for Qualls.

Qualls had a 4.60 ERA in 31.1 innings pitched this year.
