Braves acquire Baker from Tigers

The Braves have acquired infielder Jeff Baker from the Tigers in exchange for a player to be named later. Detroit designated Baker for assignment earlier today to make room for prospect Avisail Garcia.

Baker appeared in 15 games with Detroit this season, hitting .254 in 181 total plate appearances. He has hit .298 in his career against lefties.

Analysis: Not a bad move by Atlanta here. Baker is a nice bench player to have and provides some spark with the bat. Assuming that the player to be named later isn't anything special, this deal is pretty good for the Braves.
