The Royals have announced that infielder Chris Getz will miss the rest of the season due to a broken thumb. The club recalled infielder Johnny Giavotella from Triple-A, where hit .323 with 71 RBI.Getz hit .280 with 17 RBI on the season, and will be arbitration eligible after the season.
