The Diamondbacks have signed catcher Wil Nieves. Nieves elected free agency after Colorado designated him for assignment last week.Nieves appeared in 16 games for the Rockies this year, but has been sidelined since early July with a toe injury. He hit .298 in 51 plate appearances, and has a career .226 batting average.
