The Athletics have placed pitcher A.J. Griffin on the 15 day disabled list with a strained right shoulder. The A's have called lefty Pedro Figueroa from Triple-A in a corresponding move.Griffin has had a nice season, posted a 2.42 ERA in 8 game started.
