Marlins place Bonafacio on 15 day DL

The Marlins have placed second baseman Emilio Bonifacio on the 15 disabled list with a sprained left thumb. The team has recalled infielder Nick Green from Triple-A.

Bonifacio injured his thumb during Friday's game against the Nationals, and after the game Manager Ozzie Guillen believed that the injury would be season ending. Bonifacio has hit .261 with 30 stolen bases in 61 games this season.
