The Orioles have designated pitcher J.C. Romero for assignment. Baltimore acquired Romero from Cleveland 11 days ago. Romero, a 14 year veteran in the league, is now considering retirement.Romero appeared in two games for the Orioles this year, and spent a considerable amount of time in Triple-A, where he posted a 2.74 ERA in 23 innings.
Analysis: Romero has enjoyed a nice career as a left handed specialist, but it is time to hang up the cleats. He has nothing else to prove, and is pretty washed up.
