The Rangers have placed catcher Yorvit Torrealba on release waivers this afternoon. Texas designated Torrealba for assignment last week to make roster space for Geovany Soto. If a team doesn't claim Torrealba, he will receive his unconditional release.Torrealba has hit .236 in 182 plate appearances so far this season. The Nationals reportedly had interest in acquiring him last month, but they acquired Kurt Suzuki from Oakland a couple days ago, so they probably don't have interest in signing him now.
