Royals release Yuniesky Betancourt

The Royals have released infielder Yuniesky Betancourt. Kansas City designated Betancourt for assignment nine days ago, and were unable to trade him.

Betancourt has hit .266 with 67 homers in his career. This was his second stint with Kansas City.
