The Phillies and Dodgers have announced that the Shane Victorino trade from a few months ago has been officially completed. Philadelphia will acquire infielder Stefan Jarrin from the Dodgers to finalize the deal. The Phillies originally acquired Ethan Martin, and Josh Lindblom in the trade.
Jarrin has spent the last two seasons in the lower levels of the minor leagues, hitting .211 in 175 combined plate appearances. He was selected in the 40th round of the 2011 draft by the Dodgers, and is a second baseman.
Analysis: Well, Jarrin doesn't really look like anything special. He isn't hitting at all in the minor leagues, and I wonder what Ruben Amaro Jr. sees in him. Anyway the trade is still looking good for both sides. Lindblom is a work-in progress for the Phillies, and Martin seems like a decent prospect who may be ready soon.
