The Mariners have announced that first baseman Luis Jimenez has cleared waivers and will be outrighted to Triple-A.Jimenez spent most of the season in Triple-A, hitting .310 with 20 home runs, and being named the team's Offensive Player of the Year.
Analysis: Jimenez seems like a decent hitter, and hasn't really gotten a chance to play at the MLB level, so it is surprising to see him clear waivers. If he elects free agency, I can see a few teams being interested in him.
