The Marlins have announced that utility player Donnie Murphy has rejected his outright assignment to the minor leagues and will become a free agent.The Marlins outrighted Murphy to the minor leagues two days ago after he hit .216 in 129 plate appearances with them in 2012. He played second base, third base and shortstop as well.
Analysis: Murphy is a player that I would actually want on my team, simply because he is so versatile. He really isn't the greatest hitter, but his versatility makes up for it and with that in mind, he'll definitely get a contract from someone.
